Concrete Lifting in Clarksburg, WV

Review Logo 4.8 (1,278)

Clarksburg's soil composition, characterized by sandy and silty properties, poses risks to concrete structures like driveways and sidewalks. The area’s average annual rainfall contributes to soil instability, where moisture causes the ground to swell, only to shrink back rapidly as the water drains away. This cycle leads to uneven concrete surfaces and potential tripping hazards. Baker's Waterproofing utilizes polyurethane injection to lift and level concrete surfaces, ensuring your property remains safe and visually appealing.

Baker's Waterproofing, a Groundworks Company, specializes in providing homeowners in Clarksburg with exceptional foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space repair and encapsulation, and concrete lifting services. Our primary goal is to deliver high-quality home repair solutions and personalized service throughout West Virginia. With our highly trained technicians, top-tier products, and nationally backed warranties, Baker's is committed to helping you maintain the integrity and safety of your concrete structures.

"I can't say enough good things about Bakers Waterproofing. Years ago they did waterproofing for me; this time I had them back for foundation repairs. It was a positive experience and quality job from beginning to end. Marshall, who came out to assess the situation and give me an estimate, was so courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. I had many questions and he was patient as he clearly explained and illustrated everything I asked about. I felt good about the price after some discounts. I was even more impressed when I got a call the next day, which was a Saturday, to schedule the job. I did have a bit of a wait, but my situation wasn't urgent and I thought the wait was reasonable for the time of year and volume of work they do. But I was really impressed with Jim and Pat Clark who came out to do the work. I had a confirmation call two days before, and Jim and Pat called when they were on their way so I'd know when to expect them. They were so friendly, professional and respectful and their work ethic was amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure all issues were addressed by their quality work. It's an old house so they ran into a couple of issues that they handled without complaining it getting upset. They ended up having to stay many hours past the time they expected to be finished. It was clear that they take pride in their work and weren't about to leave until everything was completed according to their obviously high standards. Jim and his brother Pat were a pleasure to have working here for two days. They're the best among many crews I've had work at the house over the years. Dedicated employees who do quality work make all the difference. They are a true asset and the foundation of Bakers' excellent reputation. I would hire Bakers Waterproofing again without a second thought."

Types of Concrete Damage in Clarksburg

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Clarksburg

Soil Erosion

Over time, water or wind can wash away soil particles beneath the concrete slab, creating empty spaces or voids that cause the concrete to sink or crack.

Poor Soil Compaction

If the soil beneath the concrete wasn't properly compacted during construction, it can settle unevenly over time, leading to cracks and sinking.

Tree Root Growth

Roots from nearby trees can grow under concrete slabs, lifting and cracking them as they expand.

Freeze-Thaw Cycles

Repeated freezing and thawing of water in the soil can cause it to expand and contract, putting pressure on the concrete and leading to cracks and lifting.

Heavy Loads

Excessive weight from vehicles, equipment, or other heavy objects can stress the concrete, causing it to crack and settle.

Moisture Changes

Fluctuations in moisture levels can significantly impact the soil's stability beneath concrete, leading to erosion and voids that cause the concrete to settle.

Understanding these common causes can help you take preventive measures to maintain the integrity of your concrete surfaces and avoid costly repairs.
