A Wexford, PA homeowner had a 180 sq. ft. concrete front porch that was leaking water into the basement area below. Baker’s Waterproofing applied our reliable ElastoMeric coating to the concrete floor to provide a waterproofing seal to ensure that water would not enter through exposed cracks.

In the basement of this Wexford home our patented sub-floor WaterGuard drain was placed to protect the area from water disturbance. The drain was installed very minimal invasion to the floor, and is specifically designed to fit on top of the footer, against the foundation. This is unlike generic round piping that requires a messy process of installing the drain underneath the footer where it is prone to clogging with mud.

Curtain Drain Helps Intercept Water at a Wexford Home

Over the last couple years, a major water problem surfaced at this Wexford home. The house experienced surface runoff that led to basement flooding at least 4 times a year. The homeowner did not want his family to continue dealing with this annoying problem, so he called Baker's Waterproofing.

Our Certified Waterproofing Professional completed a thorough inspection on the inside and outside of the home. Then, he sat down with the homeowner and factored all concerns into his custom waterproofing proposal. The homeowner requested that we install a curtain drain, and refused our recommendation for a basement drainage system. We were able to accommodate to the family's immediate concerns.

Our crew dug 190 feet of our curtain drain within the yard. A trench was dug about 30 feet away from the foundation which will help to prevent the yard from “ponding” but cannot guarantee a dry basement. The trench was backfilled with 40 barrels of gravel and will intercept water coming from sloping terrain. This water will travel through the drain and daylight at the LawnScape outlet. LawnScape has a well that allows water to exit through the grated outlet and onto the lawn once it is completely filled up.

Two months later, the homeowner shared that their system has been working great!

A Wexford Home is in Need of Wall Anchors

Bill of Wexford noticed that one of his basement walls was beginning to bowing or push inwardly. This was definitely a concern since he was looking to sell his home in the near future.

A free estimate repair by Baker’s Waterproofing was able to determine that 10 GeoLock wall anchors would need to be installed to stabilize the failing wall.

Geo-Lock anchors are a great choice to repair bowing, tipping, or buckling walls. Each individual anchor is installed by having a 16"x16" earth plate inserted in undisturbed soil approximately 12 ft. away from the wall. Along the interior basement wall, a 1” hole is drilled to push a galvanized steel rod out to the earth plate outside. Lastly the wall plate, which is visible in this photo, is attached. The connection is tightened which gives the foundation stability.

I stumbled across your concrete sealing services while googling concrete sealing. We just purchased a new home and are required to seal our concrete (sidewalk/apron, walkway and porch) in order to have the full benefit of the warranty. I'm interested in getting a quote for your services to do this. Thank you in advance.

Wall in finished basement has had a slight bow since we purchased the home in 2014. Inspection report at the time of purchase did not indicate any structural damage. At the time of purchase the existing crack in drywall had been patched by seller. My wife and I recently noticed that the spackle covering the drywall crack had cracked and we would like to have the wall evaluated.

Two slabs of our concrete driveway have sunk and a hole has opened in the corner where it meets our front porch steps. You can see a void below the concrete through that hole. I'm interested in getting an estimate for concrete leveling of our driveway, repair of the cracks in the driveway, and (if you do it) sealing the concrete control joints.

We are in the process of buying a home. There is a storage area under a 4 car garage. The walls are cinder block and painted. There are areas where the paint is bubbled and peeling due to moisture behind it. We would like to evaluate this problem and a quote for the repair before we agree to purchase the house. Is it a major structural/foundation concern or a reasonable fix to seal the wall?

I have two things I need addressed. I had you all come out a few years go to give me an estimate on waterproofing my basement. I had decided to fix a few other problems first to see if I couldn't stop the water from coming in the house. It has seems to slowed down but not completely stopped. I need you all to come assess the situation and give me some recommendations on what I can do. The second thing I need is an estimate on some concrete leveling. There are some spots that have been sinking and I would like to see if I couldn't get these fixed.
