This home located in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania was experiencing bowing and cracking basement walls. To ease the homeowner's concern, our team installed 4 wall reinforcing strips, called CarbonArmor.
CarbonArmor is a reinforcing system used by the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and will be applied to this home's basement walls as a remedy for cracked and bowing foundation walls. The CarbonArmor system consists of strips of a high-strength epoxy resin and carbon fiber strap material is —pound for pound—stronger than steel, making this an effective way to repair a home’s foundation.
Service Advisor Mike Felt was able to fix the bowing 2” wall and water flooding problem with the installation of Channel wall anchors, WaterGuard sub-floor drainage installed flush against the leaking wall, and a sump pump system to keep the space dry. Our waterproofing system comes with a Lifetime Transferable Warranty and our anchoring system comes with a 25 year Manufacturer’s Warranty.
Concrete Cracks and Sinking Slabs Repaired in Pittsburgh, PA
Concrete Cracks and Sinking Slabs Repaired in Pittsburgh, PA
Before
After
A couple from Pittsburgh, PA had just moved into their home and were starting to renovate their backyard. They had a small slab out their backdoor that was sinking. They wanted their entire backyard to look appealing, so they called Baker's Waterproofing for a no-obligation estimate.
Brad Wentzel, our Service Advisor, conducted an inspection of the concrete around the home. The homeowners decided they wanted their driveway joints sealed in addition to raising the small slab. Brad noticed that the front stoop had empty voids under the slabs there as well. Brad compiled all of the services in a written estimate, and the homeowners scheduled the installation.
One of our concrete specialists, Darren, injected our high-density PolyLevel foam into the empty voids underneath the concrete slabs to instantly raise and level them. Darren then installed our NexusPro solution to seal the joints and any existing cracks.
These homeowners now have the renovated backyard that they wanted!

Once the sump was installed concrete was poured over.
This is the SuperSump with an air tight lid. This is great for finished basements. The air tight lid prevents water from coming outside the sump. This allows for carpet or tile to be applied over and will not become damaged.
Once the drain was fully installed and connected to the sump pump concrete was poured over the drain.

Our back yard flooded during last weeks downpour. Water pooled against our house and came into our furnace room; this room backs up to the flooded area. The sub-floor boards in the room above this area are wet. I have pictures of the flooding. Please advise on the process to send them.
