An unfinished basement wall became structurally unsound overtime due to extreme pressure from outside soils. The pressure on the foundation caused the wall to develop horizontal and stair-step cracking and bow up to 1.5 inches.
The homeowner watched as the problem continued to get worse since the beginning signs of a major problem. Finally, the homeowner called Baker's Waterproofing to stabilize the walls. The homeowner's main concern was that the wall would eventually fail, so we installed our Geo-Lock wall anchor system to prevent the walls from bowing any further.

Homeowner Doug had a bowing foundation in his basement.
The wall was repaired by installing 11 of our patented GeoLock wall anchors. These anchors utilize exterior installation in which steel rods are driven through 1” holes in the basement and are connected to outside earth plates located underground approx. 12 ft. away from the foundation. This method not only stabilizes the wall, but over time uses a torching method that allows the opportunity to potentially straightening the wall. As an additional feature, he also purchased neutral wall covers.
Doug was so happy with his installation that in 2014, when he had noticed water entering his foundation, he knew exactly who to call to look into a way of fixing this issue.
Frank of Bridgeport, WV had water entering the left side of his basement with heavy condensation on the walls. The issue was only getting worse for Frank so he decided to call Baker’s for a free estimate.
Service Advisor Michael Richmond proposed installing WaterGuard sub-floor drainage along the wall, sitting on top of the footer. This is our most recommended draining system; it is ideal due to its resistance to clogging, its easy access to service ports, and its ability to also collect leaking water from basement walls. From WaterGuard water will flow to a sump pump. Michael had a SuperSump sump pump installed. It has the ability of pumping roughly 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of a home. It also comes with a WaterWatch alarm system that goes off it water rises over a certain level. From the pump the discharge line will connect to a downspout.
To address the excessive damp walls, Frank purchased BrightWall paneling. This white wall paneling system mechanically fastens to the wall. The panels will never rot, warp, or discolor. Any water that passes through walls cracks will run behind BrightWall downwards into the WaterGuard drainage track, keeping the basement dry!
Jere of lovely Shadyside, OH was not happy about the puddles of water that was entering his rental property’s basement during heavy rains storms. The water coming from the side and back walls was starting to affect his much needed storage area. Clearly not a happy camper, Jere decided to call the experts at Baker’s.
Jere wanted a solution which could keep his basement dry under all rain conditions and a system that would only waterproof where water was specifically entering. Not to fear Service Advisor Justin Lowden proposed installing our most recommended interior drain system, WaterGuard along the walls of the foundation where water was specifically entering. From this drainage system water will flow in the sump pump. Justin had both a Super and Ultra sump pump installed. The SuperSump is the main pump, having the capacity of pumping roughly 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. The UltraSump is battery operated and is the backup pump if there is a shortage of power to the main pump.
As additional products Jere purchased 25 ft. of LawnScape downspout extensions which will divert water away from the home. Lastly to block water from the door, 6 ft. of TrenchDrain was installed in front of the basement door. This will direct water into WaterGuard.

He expressed concern for mold growth on his walls as well. Our waterproofing solutions will prevent water from leaking into Mr. Cambell’s basement and prevent further mold growth.
Our foreman, Mike Pry, and his crew installed our WaterGuard Drainage System. This unique drain was installed along the entire perimeter of Mr. Cambell’s basement. This unique system was connected to our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. TripleSafe contains 2 sump pumps and a backup UltraSump battery pump in the event of a power outage. The crew also installed our IceGuard Discharge Line for the ultimate protection against a clogged or frozen discharge line.
The downspout lines were extended underground about 30 feet away from Mr. Cambell’s home, and connected to our LawnScape Outlet. Our LawnScape Outlet is a grated outlet system that is attached to the end of a sump pump’s discharge line. Our grated outlet is an aesthetically pleasing feature that blends into a homeowner’s lawn and protects the discharge line from clogging. In 2004, a couple living in Bellaire, OH requested our services for a permanent solution. The homeowners recognized signs of water damage in their basement. The basement wall on the left side of their home was experiencing water seepage. Additionally, changes that occurred in surrounding soils caused the same wall to bow inwards.
Our production crew installed our WaterGuard Drainage System and Geo-Lock Channel Anchors for their permanent solution. The crew installed 47 feet of our unique drainage system along the mapped-out perimeter. They dug along the perimeter of the basement, removed debris, and drilled weep holes directly above the trench to drain water from the wall. Then, they laid drainage stone in the small trench, installed our WaterGuard system, and finished the project with poured concrete.
Our wall anchors permanently stabilize and repair bowed walls without the disruption of foundation replacement. Our production crew addressed the bowed wall with 3 of our steel Channel Anchors. A small portion of sod was carefully removed (and replaced) in the 3 earth anchor locations 12 feet away from the foundation. Three small holes were drilled in the wall, and each of our galvanized steel rods were driven through the soil to the 16x16' earth anchors. Then, our 3 Channel Anchors were mounted vertically along the basement wall, fitted to a steel rod, and bolted to the floor and ceiling. This wall anchor system stabilized the homeowners' wall and provided them with the opportunity to tighten and straighten it over time.

A couple has been living in their Saint Clairsville home since 1968. For a long time now, they have been experiencing basement leakage issues and finding puddles of water on the floor after heavy rainfall. Additionally, they began to see evidence of mold. They called Baker's Waterproofing to fix their basement and create a dry, usable space they could use for storage in the future.
Our Service Advisor, Tom, thoroughly inspected the house and designed a proposal that reflected the couple's concerns. They hired Baker's to complete their basement waterproofing project.

They installed our unique WaterGuard below-floor drain at the foundation wall-floor joint to catch incoming water. They connected the system to a 3-foot grated TrenchDrain pipe in front of the outside basement entryway. The basement perimeter is about 159 feet around, so the crew installed two sump pumps to successfully collect incoming water.
They sprayed Mold-X2 cleaner on the affected areas in the basement. Then, the crew attached our white CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls to stop water and humidity from passing through to the house. Additionally, 2 SunHouse window wells replaced their old below-grade window wells on the outside of the house. SunHouse has a clear cover and brightly colored sides that maximizes the sunlight directed into the basement for a brighter, more attractive space.
The couple now has a dry space for storage in their moisture-free and mold-free basement!
