A Belle Vernon homeowner had noticed that his basement had cracks along the walls and was taking in water as a result of the damages. After having a Service Advisor from Baker's Waterproofing come out and asses the situation, they recommended the installation and utilization of GeoLock wall anchors. These specialized anchors are galvanized steel rods that are anchored to the wall by hard-packed soil from the home's foundation to prevent further inward movement of the structure. Once they are in place they give the wall the full support and stabilization that it needs.

The wood wall paneling in this Belle Vernon home was excessively damp due to water permeating through the walls. Service Advisor Michael Richmond had our patented CleanSpace 20ml thick liner applied to the wall. The liner acts as a vapor barrier, working alongside our waterproofing system by directing water downwards into the interior drainage track. Drywall can even be applied over top if you have the intention of finishing your basement.

Job Stories From Belle Vernon, PA
A Homeowner Repairs Wet Basement prior to Renting the Property

During heavy downpours, a home in Belle Vernon leaked water through the porous block basement walls.

Our certified basement waterproofing specialist, Scott Johnston, met with the husband and wife during a free basement waterproofing inspection. At the time their daughter was living at this property. They told Scott that their daughter is tired of cleaning up the flooding water after all of these heavy downpours.

The couple told Scott that they were looking to rent out this property, because their daughter was buying a new house. Knowing that this wet basement issue must be fixed beforehand, they were prepared to get the work completed soon.

Scott customized this system to address the small area that was currently leaking. We typically recommend a full perimeter system, but we aimed to meet their budget. The homeowners may always extend the system in the future.

They hired us and scheduled the project. Our crew installed 41 feet of our below-floor WaterGuard drain to collect foundation leaks and our TripleSafe sump pump (with 1 pump) to direct water out of the basement. On the outside of the home, our crew led the sump pump's discharge line underground about 18 feet away from the foundation.

Water that used to leak into the basement will now surface at the end of the discharge line through our small, camouflaged LawnScape outlet.

This home is ready to rent to their next tenant!

Sinking Home Stabilized!

Delores of Belle Vernon had noticed that her home was slowly sinking away. It was clearly obvious along her front porch with measured settlement of 2”. Fearing for the structural safety of her home Delores called Baker’s to provide a solution that could stabilize her foundation.

Service Advisor Justin Lowden proposed our patented Push Pier system to lift the house. The push piers were installed by attaching brackets to the footer so to hydraulically drive galvanized steel piers into the more bearing soil that resides deep into the ground. This transferred the weight of the home onto the piers creating the stabilization that Delores' home needed.

A Complete Waterproofing Solution

It is safe to say that having several feet of water in your basement is a key sign that you made need some help! Homeowner John had this very unsafe issue that greatly damaged his much needed storage area. He called Baker’s for a solution.

Service Advisor Justin Lowden gave the free inspection of the basement area. He created a system that would waterproof the entire basement area as well keep the basement dry all the time. Justin was able to provide this by using our WaterGuard interior drainage system around the entire perimeter of the basement with a TripleSafe sump pump. The Triple Safe contains 3 pumps in 1! The first 2 pumps have the ability to pump 6,200 gallons of water per hour out the basement, while the 3rd pump is battery operated and kicks in when power fails to the first 2 pumps. As an additional product 65ft. of our LawnScape downspout extensions were installed to divert water further away from the home.

Wall Stabilized with Geo Lock Anchors

Karen of Belle Vernon, PA had a 2” bow to the side of her home. With wanting this fixed ASAP she called the experts at Baker’s for a free estimate.

In June of 2015 Service Advisor Michael Richmond traveled to her home and proposed installing 3 of our patented Geo Lock Wall Anchors. These anchors utilize the interior and exterior sides of the wall, providing instant stabilization. The anchors also come with a tightening kit which will be able to straighten the wall over time.

After the installation Karen was more than happy to have her wall stabilized.

Belle Vernon Concrete Leveling

Homeowner David of Belle Vernon PA noticed that his concrete slab driveway and concrete slab sidewalk had sunken 2” in certain areas. Fearing for the dangerous trip hazards that this can cause, he called Baker’s Waterproofing after seeing advertisements on our latest product, PolyLEVEL.

Justin Lowden, our sales manager, gave the free estimate and determined that to raise the sinking side of the slabs 128 ILBs of PolyLEVEL would need to be inserted underneath the driveway and 10 ILBs underneath the sidewalk.

The brilliance of PolyLEVEL is that it is a quick and low profile solution to fixing sunken slabs. To insert PolyLEVEL, 5/8” holes are drilled into the slab where it has sunken and PolyLEVEL is then pumped into the hole. This will be done until the slab is properly raised and level.

PolyLEVEL is a polyurethane foam material that is completely waterproof and will last roughly 80 years. The installation time is very quick, unusually completed in a few hours.

David was happy that his slabs were now safe and free from trip hazards. He was also impressed that he could even operate his car on his driveway 15 minutes after the installation was completed!

The game room floor of my house is a concrete slab and before it was poured I drilled holes around the inside perimeter of the room ( about 26'x32') then put 1/2" rebar in the holes then spanned the area with rebar to the opposing wall. I put the reber about 24" apart I did that to all 4 walls. I did that because the ground was about 1/2 solid ground and 1/2 back fill. I know the back fill area has sunken several inches and the slab is held up by the rebar...... THE BASE BOARDS IN THE GAME ROOM IS SHOWING A LOT OF SPACE BELOW THEM. Also have a section of concrete outside my front door (about 4 1/2' X 6') one 6' edge resting on the foundation other 6' edge sunk about 1 1/2 " in the ground. The threshold of the door is resting on the concrete and is being wedged up - causing the door to bind-up, Would like to have the slab raised back into correct position.

I'm buying a home and expect to close mid September 2018. 3 major slabs on a back patio are sinking towards the house causing water egress. I can patch it once I own it, but I'd rather jack it up opposed to replacing because the concrete overall isn't in bad shape. I will be looking to perform this task as soon as I own the home to prevent further water issues.

I have two places in my basement that water comes in. It comes in around the water main. ( where the line comes through the wall. And there is a pvc pipe that sticks through the coal cellar wall that water runs through. I believe the water is laying against the frt of the house and when it builds up it comes through those spots. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love for someone to come out and look at what is going on and what's the best plan of action
