A homeowner from Pittsburgh, PA was making plans to transform his basement into a finished living space. He noticed dampness on the concrete block walls in the basement, and he wanted to take care of the water before adding carpet and furniture.

He decided to call Baker’s Waterproofing for a free estimate.

Our Waterproofing and Foundation Repair Specialist Doug Ross gave a full inspection of the interior and exterior of the home. He discovered that there was an existing sump pump system that was failing.

While he was addressing the water problem, he also noticed stair-step cracking and bowing on one of the basement walls.

Doug designed a waterproofing solution to replace the faulty system and stabilize the bowed walls.

The homeowner wanted the project done as quickly as possible, so he decided to follow through with the installation.

Basement Waterproofing Solution

Our installation crew led by Theron BlockĀ arrived with the necessary tools and equipment to restore this wet basement back into a dry and usable space.

We installed our WaterGuard drainage system (67 feet), CleanSpace wall vapor barrier (67 feet), 2 access drainage ports, a TripleSafe sump pump, and 30 feet of buried discharge lines and a LawnScape outlet on the exterior.

The wall vapor barrier and drainage system will make sure that any water is directed toward the sump pump and expelled away from the home.

Bowed Wall Solution

Theron and his crew installed 5 CarbonArmor straps on one wall to stop inward movement and prevent future damages.

This entire basement repair was completed in two days.

The homeowners can now finish their basement without the worry or water or structural damage.
