A couple from Etna, PA moved into their home in 1972. Ten years later, after an addition to their home was added, they started to notice their concrete garage floor was cracking and shifting.

The couple tried filling in the exterior cracks and re-pointing the brick, but it proved to be unsuccessful.

On the interior, their drywall and ceilings were also cracking. The cracks continued to grow, until they called Baker’s Waterproofing.

Our certified foundation repair expert Bob Massaro inspected the interior and the exterior of the home. Based on the couple’s needs and preferences, Bob designed a custom proposal that would permanently fix the home’s settling foundation.

After a few weeks, the couple decided to schedule their home repair project with Baker’s Waterproofing. Foreman Brian Komen and his crew installed six SettleStop™ Push Piers, our patented foundation repair system.

Brian and his crew dug down to the foundation until the footing was exposed. Then, foundation brackets were attached to the footing. Pier sections were hydraulically driven through each bracket until they could support the weight of the home without compression.

The piers were locked into place, transferring the weight of the of the structure to strong soils down below.

After two consecutive days, the home was permanently stabilized.

The couple no longer has to worry about the structural integrity of their home’s foundation.
