A homeowner in Belle Vernon, PA was had a bowing, leaning retaining wall on his patio. He decided to give Baker’s Waterproofing a call to set up a free inspection.
Our foundation repair specialist, Jesse, inspected the home and noticed the patio wall was leaning 3 inches. Jesse designed a solution to stabilize the brick wall from any further movement.
While at the appointment, Jesse noticed other issues going on at the home. He designed a specialized waterproofing system for the water that is entering his basement. The homeowner decided to only move forward with the wall repair project for now, but will contact us in the future if he decides to get the waterproofing project completed at a later date.
Our crew installed 2 Geo-Lock wall anchors to permanently stabilize the brick wall.
Jeremy, the foreman and his crew carefully removed a portion of the sod to dig 2 earth anchor locations in the yard. They dug these locations approximately 12 feet from the brick patio wall.
After that, our crew drove a galvanized rod from the wall out through the soil. Then, they connected the rod to the earth anchor.
On the retaining wall, the crew attached a wall plate and torqued the rod to the proper weight. They carefully completed this process for each anchor.
Now, the homeowner has a permanently stabilized retaining wall.
