A couple from McCandless, PA had puddles coming in their basement during heavy rains. They had wood paneling on their walls that was starting to get water damage on the bottom.
They saw an ad for Baker’s Waterproofing in a local magazine and called to schedule their free estimate.
Don Stiffler, one of our certified waterproofing specialists, inspected the basement and designed a waterproofing system to address their concerns. The homeowners were impressed with Don’s solution and scheduled their installation for a later date.
The homeowners decided to get rid of the wood paneling on their walls before the repair so they could have a vapor barrier wall system installed instead. A few days before their project was scheduled, as they were removing the wood paneling, they discovered their basement wall was cracked and bowing.
Don returned to the home and added on a bowed wall stabilization solution to the proposal.
Our crew installed the bowed wall solution first. They installed 3 Carbon Armor straps to reinforce the bowing wall and repair cracks.
A few days later, our crew came back to the home to install the basement waterproofing solution. Our crew installed 41 feet of our below-floor WaterGuard drain to control foundation leaks. We attached 41 feet of our CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls to protect against moisture and improve the walls’ appearance.
The below-floor drainage system leads to the TripleSafe sump pump system.
On the home’s exterior, our crew led the sump pump discharge line outside and extended it away from the home and out the LawnScape outlet. We attached a slotted IceGuard fittings on the line to provide water with an emergency exit in the rare event of freezing or clogging. These homeowners now have a dry and stable basement that won’t decrease their property value!
