Often, foundation cracks are the sign of a much bigger foundation settlement issue. Cosmetic fixes, such as filling in cracks, do not solve the underlying problem--a home slowly settling and sinking into the loose, unstable soils below.
The best solution is to fix it right away with our patented foundation repair solution. Otherwise, the problem will only get worse over time, becoming an expensive fix later.
Our crew dug down to the foundation footing to install our Push Piers. Each bracket was carefully secured to the footing and the piers were driven through the soil.
The weight of the home was transferred through the piers to the competent soils located far beneath the foundation.
Once the home was permanently stabilized, our crew back-filled the area with the existing dirt and soil.
A homeowner living in Canonsburg recently noticed a new stair-step crack in his foundation. There were cracks on the inside block wall and exterior brick. He called Baker's Waterproofing to find out what the underlying problem was and what could be done to fix it.
Our certified expert Tom inspected the inside and outside of the cracked foundation. Tom designed a solution with 4 Push Piers to stabilize the home. This system was installed starting at the foundation footing after some excavation. Then, the piers were hydraulically driven through the unstable soils to competent strata down below.
Our foreman, Brian, and his crew successfully put this home back on solid ground.
