Foundation Repair Case Studies: Bowed Wall Repair in Coraopolis, PA

Monday, May 18th, 2015 by Alyssa Petrella

Gene of Coraopolis, PA had a 1” bow to his 35’ front wall, as well as water seeping into his basement. Gene had the intention of stabilizing and straightening the wall immediately, as well as installing an interior waterproofing system.

The inspection given by Service Advisor Mike Richmond determined that the bowed wall was caused by expansive soil forcing more pressure onto the wall than it could handle. The wall was repaired by installing 5 GeoLock wall anchors to give stability to the shifting foundation. Since the wall was to be straightened immediately excavation had to be completed prior to installing the anchors to give access to the foundation.

In the basement we installed a waterproofing system that consisted of placing our patented WaterGuard french drainage against the leaking foundation flush with the floor and sump pump system to collect and reroute of the basement.

All of these products installed by Baker’s give the homeowner a secure foundation and a dry basement.
