The block foundation walls were very porous and needed to be protected.
BrightWall white panels were connected to the wall by attaching plastic drilled-in fasteners. The panels are flexible enough to wrap around poles but durable enough to be cut to fit wall height specificity.
The panels were specifically cut to fit along the staircase.
The panels work in unison with the installed WaterGuard sub-floor drain. Water behind the panels flows down into the drain instead of onto the floor.
From the perimeter drain water will be pumped out of the basement from the SuperSump that installed in the rear corner.
The sump's discharge was taken outside to a downspout.
Cathy of Chalk Hill, PA was concerned about the condensation forming on her concrete basement walls which was also causing mold to grow. Traditionally block foundation walls are sponge like to extracting moisture from the earth outside. To finish the basement, the walls needed to be protected first. Cathy had BrightWall semi-rigid white panels fastened to the walls. The panels will protect the walls from water damage and direct water down into the WaterGuard perimeter drain that was also installed, along with a SuperSump sump pump which moves water outisde.
