A water main break flooded this basement with 18" of water.
This part of the basement had a dirt floor and needed to be treated as a crawlspace.
The entire "crawlspace" room was encapsulated to keep any moisture out.
The entire perimeter of the basement is now protected against future leaks.
CleanSpace vapor barrier and FlowGuard drainage system protect the space from any moisture.
The TripleSafe sump pump system will take any incoming water out of the home.
A couple from Clarksburg, WV had a water main break in front of their home that caused 18 inches of water to flow into their basement completely ruining some of their belongings. They had never experienced water problems before, but were concerned that the water main break could have created structural damage. They decided to call Baker's Waterproofing for peace of mind.
Service Advisor Jesse Pitcock came to the home and inspected the interior and exterior with the homeowners. He discovered that there was no structural damage, however, they did need a waterproofing system to protect from future leaks and heavy rains.
Their basement was extremely unique. The foundation walls were brick, the floors were a different elevation throughout, and one section had a dirt floor. Jesse designed a full perimeter waterproofing solution to protect the family's stored items.
Foreman Theron Block and his crew installed 139 feet of the FlowGuard drainage system around the entire basement perimeter. This sends water to the TripleSafe sump pump, which takes water up and out of the home.
CleanSpace wall vapor barrier was installed on all of the walls. Because of the dirt floor, one room of the basement was completely encapsulated with CleanSpace Crawlspace barrier. This sends any water coming in through the walls into the drainage system and out the pump.
On the exterior, the downspouts were extended and a LawnScape outlet was installed to divert any water away from the home's foundation. IceGuard discharge line was also put on the exterior line to eject water away from the foundation in the event that the sump pump discharge lines freeze or become clogged.
This WV family can now use their basement as a storage space without any water damage to their belongings.
