After heavy rains, this basement leaked up to about 1 inch of water on the floor. This caused water-damage to the floor and walls.
The soil around this foundation saturated with water time and time again. Eventually, the leaks caused more than just water-damage. The walls began to lean inwards due to extreme pressures from expansive soils.
We addressed the minor 1'' bow with our extremely strong CarbonArmor fiber straps. Then, we attached our CleanSpace vapor barrier to the damp walls.
Our energy-efficient SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier automatically drains any excess moisture in the air into the drainage system.
We dug a small perimeter trench and sump hole to install our unique drainage and sump pump system. The drain, sump, vapor barrier, and dehumidifier work together to keep this basement dry.
Water that used to leak into the basement will travel through discharge piping and surface at the outlet.
The concrete takes a few weeks to fully cure. Now, the homeowner can continue remodeling and install finishing materials on the walls and floor.
Our certified expert, Mike Felt, met with the homeowner's stepfather to assist in the decision for necessary repair work. While at the home, Mike completed a thorough inspection and discovered a structural problem in addition to the leakage.
