After rains, up to one inch of water flooded into this basement, causing major damage.
The customer removed the toilet at this location prior to our project date. They also removed their laundry tub and other stored items that were against the walls. This helped the project run effectively and efficiently.
Our crew dug a small perimeter trench at the floor-wall joint of the basement to install our WaterGuard drain on the foundation footing. Then, they backfilled the trench with clean gravel.
Our crew carefully installed our clog-resistant drain. Then, they hand-mixed and hand-poured fresh concrete over the system.
The TripleSafe sump pump system was placed in a small sump hole. The WaterGuard drain was tied into this powerful system.
Our unique WaterGuard drain features a small wall flange that extends slightly up from the floor. The bottom of the white CleanSpace vapor barrier was tucked behind this wall flange to help direct leaks into the system.
Once water in the TripleSafe reaches a certain level, the pumps will power on to eject that water out of the basement. Water will travel through these discharge lines to daylight. If the underground line clogs or freezes, our slotted IceGuard fittings act as the emergency exit.
During the next rain, water will travel far away from the foundation and daylight on the front yard slope.
To complete this basement waterproofing system, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. Sedona will remove excess moisture and humidity in the air, then automatically drain any water into the WaterGuard system.
Now, the apartment building owners can use this large basement as usable storage space with peace of mind that it will stay dry and mold-free.
An old apartment building in Canonsburg had been a musty, unusable space for years. This extremely large basement flooded up to one inch every time it rained. The building owners wanted to dry up the basement for dry storage space, prevent mold, and reduce those musty odors.
Our certified basement waterproofing specialist inspected the inside and outside of the building. Mike designed a system that addressed all of their basement concerns and fit within their budget.
Jacob, our Foreman, and his crewman transformed this musty and flooded basement into a healthy, dry space within 2 days. First, they addressed the flooding water issue. The crew dug out a small perimeter trench and installed our WaterGuard below-floor drain. Then, they dug out a small pit to install our TripleSafe sump pump system. The 2 sump pump discharge lines were directed through the foundation wall, then underground in the yard to daylight.
Next, the owners' unsightly walls were addressed with our mold-resistant CleanSpace vapor barrier. Finally, Jacob and his crewman installed our energy-efficient SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to complete this waterproofing system.
Now, this basement is a dry, usable storage space with better air quality throughout the apartment building.
