In Markleysburg PA a homeowner had a very damp foundation wall that needed to repaired.
We first were going to protect the porous foundation by applying a vapor barrier along the wall.
Our vapor barrier is called CleanSpace. It will protect cracks in the wall from spilling water onto the floor. Foreman Mike is hanging the liner with special drilled in fasteners that will securely keep it in place.
Below the liner we placed our patented draining system called WaterGuard. A trench was created to rest the drain pipe on top of the footer. CleanSpace will also push water down into the drain preventing puddling along the floor.
To fit along the side wall the WaterGuard drain was cut.
Then was rested in the trench and connected to the rest of the piping.
A hole in the sump was cut to connect the french drain.
Pump is connected to drain! WaterGuard will carry water to the sump system which will pump water outside of the basement to a downspout at a rate of 2,500 gallons of water per hour using its 1/3 hp pump motor. If desired, a battery backup charger can be purchased to keep the pump working during power shortages.
Assembling the discharge line.
The discharge line is assembled with a special glue.
The discharge line will take water outside to a downspout line.
The drain and sump are both installed. Concrete was applied over the drain to restore the floor. Once it has dried it will hardly be noticed! Another day, another dry basement!
