Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Wet Basement Repair in Somerset, PA

Friday, December 30th, 2016 by Alyssa Petrella

In Somerset PA a basement had leaking water along the front foundation. The puddling water was causing paint to chip, and mold was present. The homeowners were interested in selling the home, but they knew these problems had to be fixed before they could begin the selling process.

The painted walls were protected by applying a rigid white vapor barrier called BrightWall. They not only brighten up the space, but will protect from water and mold damage along the foundation by pushing water down into the below floor WaterGuard drain. The WaterGuard perforated drain piping sits nicely up against the wall within a 3 foot trench. The drain leads water to the SuperSump pumped system that was installed in front rear corner to move water to the outside. The basement waterproofing system will keep this area dry for years to come.
