Basement Waterproofing Case Studies: Basement Waterproofing in West Sunbury PA

Friday, October 14th, 2016 by Alyssa Petrella

In West Sunbury PA the routine water flooding was enough for the homeowner to call Baker’s. Along the entire perimeter of the foundation, including in multiple rooms, water would disturb the space during times of light or significant downpour.

After a free inspection Service Advisor Chris Shrontz recommended installing a sub-floor drain called WaterGuard along the perimeter flush with the floor, this included in the living area, bathroom, and laundry room. In the laundry room a sump pump system was connected to the drain and will move water to the outside.

Additionally since the concrete foundation was excessively damp, we applied a white vapor protective liner along the foundation. The liner protects the wall from damage and pushes water down into the french drain to keep the basement dry. The liner also has a fighting force called UltraFresh woven into the material that will protect from mold growth. Lastly to remedy the musty smells a dehumidifier specifically for basements was installed. The SaniDry CX model can purify a space up to 2,200 sq. ft., an area that a household dihumidifier cannot touch!
