A homeowner in Edinburg, PA researched contractors online, and scheduled her free basement inspection with Baker's Waterproofing.
Our Certified Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair Specialist, Don Stiffler, inspected the inside and outside of this property. Right away, the homeowner specified that she did not want the repairs completed until the following year.
Our specialist measured a relative humidity of 70.9%. Mold grows when the relative humidity is above 70%. Any basement should be at or below our recommended 55% so mold won’t stand a chance.
One challenge Don identified was the existing gray water sump pump and pit in the basement.
Don designed a custom system that fit her needs and concerns. That same day, she chose Baker's for the basement waterproofing repairs.
We special-ordered a solid single sump (without holes) and an airtight lid to replace the failed gray water sump.
Our foreman, Theron Block, and his crew arrived with the necessary tools and equipment to restore this wet basement back into a dry and usable space.
We installed a customized sump system with a M53 pump. The Zoeller® M53 pumps up to 2,220 gallons per hour at an 8' head. Theron and his crew installed a full perimeter basement waterproofing system with 131 feet of our below-floor WaterGuard and FlowGuard drainage system. We included 4 easy-access drainage ports. A light 3' TrenchDrain (connected to the rest of the drainage system) was placed in front of a small well room in the basement.
To address excess moisture in the air and high relative humidity, we installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
On the outside of the foundation, Theron tied the new sump pump into the homeowner's existing discharge line. We attached our slotted IceGuard fitting onto the discharge line to provide an emergency exit for sump water.
Our 2-person crew repaired this basement in 2 days.
