Mount Lebanon, PA: Our team completed 2 separate projects at this location.
At the first visit, our Certified Waterproofing and Foundation Repair Specialist, Chris Shrontz, inspected the inside and outside of the house. Chris noticed that the concrete slab on the porch had developed multiple cracks. This was especially concerning, because this concrete was poured over top of the existing garage. The porous concrete was letting water through, thus leaking into the garage below.
At the second visit, Chris learned about a different problem that arose since a new homeowner bought the house. Water leaked through the foundation into the basement.
In 2015 and 2018, the same Service Advisor and Foreman was involved with these waterproofing projects.
Foreman David Cain and his crew repaired the cracked, porous concrete porch with sealant and Elastomeric Coating. The applied coating created a waterproof barrier to prevent water from seeping into the concrete. The space below was finally protected from ceiling leaks.
After the basement water problem was discovered, David and his crew arrived to install our proven waterproofing system. This included our CleanSpace vapor barrier, WaterGuard below-floor drain, and TripleSafe sump pump system. The unique drain rests along the perimeter of the basement just below the floor to collect groundwater that tries to enter the basement. All water is directed from WaterGuard into our air-tight sump pump system. Our connected discharge line was tied into the existing sump pump in the garage, which ultimately runs into the downspout.
Since 2015, the concrete porch has been protected from the damaging effects of water, deicing salts, chemicals, gasoline, oils, and antifreeze. Now, as of 2018, the basement will be protected from water leakage too!
