We first drilled weep holes in the floor against the foundation to create a trench to rest the perorated drain piping. The WaterGuard drain is ideal due to its simple installation and resistance to clogging.
Notice how the pipe is straight and rigid? WaterGuard is installed in long sections and does not come from a coiled up pipe. This means that the water can flow through it very easily since it never encounters any little bumps. This makes for a much more efficient system.
The system is now in place. Concrete was applied over the drain and around the sump pump to restore the concrete floor.
The discharge line is taken through the wall.
The discharge line was taken outside and was connected to a downspout.
In Champion PA homeowner’s Jim and Rita needed a basement waterproofing system installed in their basement to prevent the reoccurrence of water puddling along the floor which was beginning to damage their beloved storage items.
A free inspection by Service Advisor Nick Freda determined that the best solution would be to install a sub-floor French drain called WaterGuard with a SuperSump sump pump to move water outside.
