On Thursday, June 14th Baker's Waterproofing hosted an event to prepare breakfast and snack bags for children and their families residing at the Ronald McDonald House in Pittsburgh. These bags are a healthy grab-and-go option for families to pick up as they head out in the morning for medical appointments. Prior to this event, many of our employees donated non-perishable food items such as juice boxes, cereal bars, fruit cups, and crackers. In addition to these items, we raised $365.
This event was a great opportunity to bring our employees together for a wonderful cause. The Ronald McDonald House eases the stress of families from around the world with critically ill children by providing them with all the comforts of home and the support they need during the most difficult time in their lives. Our hope was to make their day a little easier by preparing snacks they could take on the go. It is an honor to be able to volunteer our time and money to the Ronald McDonald House, that is committed to helping children and their families lead happier, healthier, and more productive lives.
On the day of the event, Baker's Waterproofing organized all of the food and beverages in our office. We started an assembly line to place 4-6 items with silverware and napkins in each bag. By the end of the day, we packaged nearly 500 snack bags!
The Baker's Waterproofing Because We Care program keeps employees involved within local communities to help those in need, whether it be an organization, local family, or fellow employee.
Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. RMHC can help address those problems, whether they involve housing that’s near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community. RMHC has local Chapters in more than 64 countries and regions.
Since 1974, RMHC has helped address these needs every day, with 431,174 volunteers and staff members, our connections with medical communities around the world, partnerships with respected companies and our generous donors.
