His tenured experience gives him an edge to provide our customers with the highest quality work and customer service. He most appreciates the freedom he experiences while working with Baker's as he completes his daily workload.
In Tom’s spare time, he most enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.
This Latrobe, PA basement has a monolithic floor, meaning the floor and footing were previously poured as one piece. This makes it extremely thick and challenging for our crew to dig up without creating a lot of dust. For this reason, they installed our DryTrak Baseboard Drain. DryTrak provides a simple solution that helps avoid an otherwise messy and time-consuming installation.
In Uniontown PA homeowner Melissa needed to protect her damp basement walls so that she could finish her basement with paneling. Baker’s applied a vapor and insulated barrier to her porous foundation called ThermalDry. This wall system will protect potential finishing from water damage and will reflect heat back into the space for insulation.
Service Advisor Chris visited this Morgantown West Virginia home to ease the concerns of homeowner Linda. During her inspection, Chris proposed that Linda’s garage foundation was in need of wall anchors as her foundation was bowed and cracking. Chris also advised that our vapor barrier wall panels called BrightWall be installed.
As a part of Homeowner Jeff and Lisa’s waterproofing system, a grated TrenchDrain was placed in front of their basement door entrance to collect excessive infilitrating water. This drain is connected to their interior WaterGuard drain; the drain leads water to a sump sump where it is then pumped out.
A homeowner located in Jeannette, PA had a finished basement with a bowing foundation. A professional from Bakers Waterproofing came down to personally asses the home and found that the best solution would be the installation of Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. These specialized anchors are attached to the wall and tightened over time to straighten the bowing and unstable structure. On top of the anchors, neutral wall covers were placed.
To address the issues of water entering into this basement, our crew installed a WaterGuard Below-Floor system as well as a BrightWall system to restore the look of the basement. An UltraSump was installed to reduce moisture in this space, and keep the area dry by pumping water out and away from the home.
This home located in Fairmont, West Virginia was experiencing water and moisture issues within the home's basement. To ease the concerns of the homeowner, our crew installed 20 feet of the French drain system WaterGuard. This perimeter drain will capture any water that happens to seep into the space and direct the water into a sump pump, and then out of the basement.
In Fairmont WV we installed our sub-floor WaterGuard drain to prevent water leakage in the basement. We highly recommend having WaterGuard installed as opposed to other French drainage systems. Most drains are placed under the footer of your home. This method is expensive, messy, and ineffective since it is placed in an area that easily clogs. WaterGuard on other hand is easily placed on top of the footer by digging out a trench along the wall to install the drain flush with the floor. Once it is installed the floor is able to be fully restored by pouring concrete over the drain.
David of Fairmont WV had our signature waterproofing system installed. This included our WaterGuard sub-floor drain that was installed along the wall to collect water, and a SuperSump sump pump. In the before and after photos you can see that after the drain and sump pump were installed the floor was restored by applying concrete.
This Delmont, PA basement had up to 2 inches of water flooding into the space when it would rain, and very damp walls which was causing paint to chip and even mold growth. We installed a patented solution to this problem. We installed our WaterGuard sub-floor drain within the floor of the perimeter with a SuperSump sump pump. These two components will block and reroute water from flooding into the basement. Lastly we applied a vapor barrier called CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a durable liner that protects walls from any further water damages.
Homeowners in Carmichaels, PA recently experienced a water leak in their basement and garage. Our crew installed our unique WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain along the perimeter of the affected area (about 129 feet). The customer requested that we tie our drainage system into the 2 floor drains in their garage, so we did just that. Now, these homeowners do not have to worry about wet floors with our proven solution!
A Belle Vernon homeowner had noticed that his basement had cracks along the walls and was taking in water as a result of the damages. After having a Service Advisor from Baker's Waterproofing come out and asses the situation, they recommended the installation and utilization of GeoLock wall anchors. These specialized anchors are galvanized steel rods that are anchored to the wall by hard-packed soil from the home's foundation to prevent further inward movement of the structure. Once they are in place they give the wall the full support and stabilization that it needs.
If substantial water is entering through the basement door we highly recommend a grated TrenchDrain. TrenchDrain will collect water and take it to the WaterGuard perimeter drain where it will then be pumped outside of the home. The drain can also be placed in front of staircases and even garage entrances too.
This home located in Pricedale, Pennsylvania was experiencing extreme basement foundation wall cracking and bowing. The team at Bakers Waterproofing installed 14 GeoLock Wall Anchors to help permanently stabilize this home's basement walls and foundation, easing the concern and worries of the homeowners.
A damp concrete porch in Irwin PA was allowing water to disturb the home’s basement area below. Baker’s applied a waterproof sealant over the porous and cracked concrete and installed a French Drain system called WaterGuard with a sump system in the basement. All products will keep this basement, and its’ storage items dry.
An Irwin home built in 1970 experienced water leakage during each heavy rainfall. If left alone, the homeowner's damp crawl space could grow mold and allow foul odors to rise up through the first floor of the home. She wanted to seal off the area, so she could use it as a dry storage space. Our foreman, Tom Hannah, and his crew installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. This durable waterproof barrier will keep the earth's moisture away from this crawl space. Plus, it has a new and improved look!
The Gate of Heaven Church of God and Christ located in Monessen, Pennsylvania needed a waterproofing system installed in the kitchen area of their basement. Baker’s Waterproofing installed a french drain, a sump pump system, and a vapor barrier liner called CleanSpace. All of these products will prevent water puddling and condensation along the foundation walls and floor.
The homeowner expressed concern for his hazardous, uneven sidewalk. This concrete slab settled over time because the soil below was no longer supporting the weight of the slab. Our foreman and his crew injected our PolyLevel foam and lifted the concrete slab to a more stable position. The crew drilled small holes in strategic locations, installed injection ports, filled the void below with our high-density foam, then grouted and sealed the holes.
After noticing horizontal cracks along the interior block foundation wall of his basement, Andy of North Versailles called Baker’s Waterproofing for a free inspection. Service Advisor Michael Richmond inspected the wall and determined that the wall was bowing ½ inch. If gone unrepaired, the wall could continue to bow and eventually collapse. Michael stabilized the wall by having 2 GeoLock wall anchors installed. This foundation repair system will hold the wall in place and will prevent the wall from moving any further.
This unfinished garage in North Versailles, PA had cracking, bowing walls with water leaking through the foundation. Our Foreman, Tom Hannah, and his crewmen, Jon and Jess, installed our Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System, CleanSpace Wall System, TripleSafe Sump Pump System, and WaterGuard with FlowGuard Drainage Systems. The homeowner has peace of mind knowing that his foundation has permanently regained its structural integrity and will stay dry at all times.
These before and after photos show the durable vapor barrier liner called CleanSpace that was hung along the porous foundation walls in Clarksburg, WV. This liner works directly with the also installed french perimeter drain. The liner will block water leakage through the foundation and push it down into the drain, preventing water seepage onto the floor. The liner is great for both finished and unfinished basements.
Arlene of Waynesburg PA noticed stair-step cracking on the interior walls of her basement. This was a red flag! After further inquiry she had noticed that the back wall was bowing. We were able to stabilize the foundation by installing our GeoLock wall anchors. This anchoring system holds the wall in place, preventing any further movement. Additionally with a tightening kit, the wall can potentially be straightened back to normal over time by the homeowner.
There was a sinking sidewalk leading up to an office located in Waynesburg. Our service advisor, Mike Felt, inspected the concrete slab, concluding that it needed raised about 1.5 inches. Our foreman, Tom Hannah, and his crew installed our PolyLevel slab solution. Our installation crew injected the high-density foam through strategically placed injection ports. The foam filled in voids in the soils beneath the concrete, successfully lifting it 1.5 inches! Tom and his crewman removed the ports, then sealed the small holes with concrete, leaving little to no disruption to the area.
As a part of Dennis’ waterproofing system our patented SuperSump was installed. This pump is the result of years of research to creating the uniquely designed pump that is the Super! Unlike other pumps which are made of plastic, this cast iron pump can withstand high heating levels, and is resistant to clogging, with the ability of pumping out ½” solids. The Super can also move 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of your home.
Our Bright Wall paneling system is also visuable in the after photo. The panels were mechanically fastened to the wall, acting as a vapor barrier.
Robert was in the process of purchasing a home in Homestead Pennsylvania. It was noticed that along the rear concrete block foundation of the detached garage, the wall was bowing or pushing inwardly 2''. Baker’s Waterproofing and Foundation Repair gave an estimate and had 5 GeoLock wall anchors installed to stabilize this unsafe foundation.
The soils beneath this sidewalk were not fully supporting the weight of these concrete slabs. Our foreman and his crew injected our high-density PolyLevel slab solution to address the visible damage. The expanding properties of the polyurethane allow for an accurate lift and leveling of the slab. Our installation crew worked hard to give this homeowner a stable sidewalk, with peace of mind he would not have further foundation problems.
This home located in Bethel Park Pennsylvania was experiencing water along the foundation wall within the home's basement as well as along the home’s exterior patio. After the installation of the recommended products, the home's water frustration disappeared and the homeowner's were able to enjoy their basement and exterior patio with no more water interference!
Homeowners Chris and Candice were planning on staying within their home located in Bethel Park Pennsylvania. To ease the concerns of these homeowners our sales advisor Tom visited the couple to assess and address the waterproofing unsettling feeling within the basement.
Tom proposed installation of WaterGuard. This drainage system involves removing a section of the basement flooring, creating a trench on a bed of gravel and loose rock, resistant to clogging. This dainage system is connected directly to the SuperSump pump system ensuring that water cannot collect around the basement foundation. This system along with the UltraSump battery back up will protect their basement even during power failures.
In this Natrona Heights, PA finished basement we were able to fit our sub-floor WaterGuard drain behind the staircase. This drain which is installed flush with the floor is designed to keep the basement dry of water leakage into the basement along the both the floor and wall. The drain is installed with minimal disturbance. Once the concrete over the drain is dry, the interior french drain is hardly noticeable.
This unstable wall bowed inwards over time due to extreme soil pressures. The Natrona Heights, PA homeowner noticed that this foundation problem was only getting worse, so he called us for our reliable wall solution.
Our Foreman, Tom Hannah, and his crew permanently stabilized this wall with our Geo-Lock wall anchor system. These anchors extend far enough away from the foundation in order to ensure that the wall will not move inwards any further.
Rest assured that this foundation wall is now structurally sound!
