Alan of Hidden Valley, PA had a leak along the partial front and left side-facing wall in his finished basement. The water intake was disturbing his wood finished paneling and carpeted floor. Outside Alan also had substantial amounts of water in his yard. Alan needed a solution quickly. After researching many companies online and seeing their reviews, he called Baker’s Waterproofing for a free estimate.
To repair the leak, we installed 42 ft. of WaterGuard sub-floor drainage against the foundation (left and front). After the carpet was rolled back a trench was created to give access to the footer, and incrementally the drain pipe was laid over top. WaterGuard is designed to collect water along the foundation and through the floor with the use of its 3/8inch wall flange. In the front corner, we installed a TripleSafe sump system to move water from the drain to an outside downspout. We installed 15 ft. of downspout extension piping to prevent water from recirculating back into the basement.
As an additional product, we removed the wood paneling and installed our ThermalDry wall system against the foundation. This wall material is great for finished basements. It will protect future wall paneling from water seepage /damage and will insulate the area as well by reflecting heat back into the basement. Lastly, in the front yard we installed 25 ft. of curtain drainage to prevent the yard from becoming soaked.
Al of these products installed by Baker’s will keep this Hidden Valley finished basement dry for years to come!
