Nickman’s Drug in Fairchance, PA had water infiltration along the rear wall in their 20x40 block foundation basement used for storage. There was also evidence of mold growth along the basement staircase. The owner of the building called Baker’s Waterproofing since having a good experience with us at another location. The owner wanted a system that would keep the entire area protected under any possible circumstance.
The basement waterproofing solution was designed by Service Advisor Dan Bracey. His design system consisted of installing our interior french drain called WaterGuard around the entire perimeter of the basement flush with the floor. This drain is designed to sit up against the foundation on top of footer to catch water. This not only prevents water along the rear where the current leak was occurring, but it also protects against potential leaks as well.
In the lowest level of the basement, which was along the rear, a sump pump system was installed. The Super will move water out of the basement at a rate of 2,500 gallons per hour without fear of overheating or clogging due to its design. A battery backup system was also installed with this model to move water even during power shortages.
As additional products, a SaniDry dehumidifier was placed to help control and improve the overall air quality, which can help to prevent future mold growth. Also 4 ft. of a grated TrenchDrain was installed to protect the water heater from water seepage.
All of these installed products by Baker’s Waterproofing will give the owner of Nickman’s Drug a safe and usable storage area. The project lasted 3 days. For a free estimate click HERE.
