A Morgantown house consists of a small, musty room beneath the porch. The homeowner was unsure of what exactly caused their serious mold issues. They thought it was due to water leakage, but they never saw any evidence of water.
Our Certified Waterproofing Specialist inspected the inside and outside of this home. Don did not find any leaks, but did find mold and rust in this room.
Don designed a custom system to address the homeowner's concerns. This system includes our SilverGlo wall insulation and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. At a later date, our crew installed this system to improve the air quality and efficiency of this space.
Prior to the installation, the homeowner removed their moldy, rotted shelves.
Ken and his crew attached SilverGlo insulation to the ceiling and three of the four walls. SilverGlo acts as a vapor barrier and heat barrier in that room. The system combines highly effective graphite-infused insulation with a built-in radiant heat barrier surface. This gives the walls an unbroken plane of R-11 insulation. It's closed-cell insulation will not soak up moisture like other options.
Our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier will get rid of excess moisture in the air. The Sedona keeps the relative humidity below 55%, so mold won't grow. As a high-efficiency Energy Star certified dehumidifier, it removes up to 100 pints of moisture per day. Our crew connected a drain pipe from the dehumidifier to the homeowner's existing floor drain. Now, any excess moisture in the air will drain out of the home automatically!
