Vent Covers and Entry Doors
After your CleanSpace liner is installed, the next steps in crawl space enclosure from damaging moisture and rot is to install vent covers and a secure crawlspace door.
Vent Covers
Crawlspace vents were originally added to allow air flow under a house, allowing moisture to escape. Unfortunately, since air rises up through a house, it actually makes your moisture control problem even worse. Anything that is in your crawlspace will inevitably be in the air in your home as well - including mold, humidity and foul odors. CleanSpace® Vent Covers seal crawlspace vents permanently from outside to stop unwanted air from entering the crawl space, while covering ugly vents with an attractive panel. The available colors of black, gray and red brick match a home's foundation nicely. With the CleanSpace® Encapsulation System, your vents will be closed up! This will save you energy costs, and make a more comfortable and healthy home.
Crawl Space Doors
Crawlspace doors are usually built of wood. Being as close to the ground as they are, they are not built to last - nor will they. They will eventually rot or warp - making it difficult to enter your crawlspace. At Baker's Waterproofing we offer two different solutions to your crawlspace entry.
The EverLast - For Above Grade Entrances
The EverLast Crawl Space Door is a durable, inorganic crawlspace door which will never warp or rot. The door is waterproof and mold resistant, and will look great for years. Unlike painting wood doors, the color on the EverLast will never chip or wear off - it will always blend into your home. It is made of half inch thick plastic and has rust-proof hardware which will attach to your home. It will work seamlessly with your CleanSpace liner to prevent your crawlspace from being infiltrated by moisture and unwanted pests.
Another fantastic benefit of your EverLast door is that it will help your home be more completely sealed off from outside air - which makes your home more energy efficient. It will help you lower your heating and cooling bills, and make your home more environmentally friendly.
The Turtl - For Below Grade Entrances
Having a below grade crawlspace entry is usually fraught with problems; the well itself is usually disgusting, wet and filled with bugs. Aside from the well, these unprotected entrances let rain, pests and debris into your crawlspace. The Turtl is a solution to both of your problems - it is the well itself and an access door to your crawlspace as well.
It will provide a clean, airtight seal for your crawlspace. You will not have to worry anymore about a dirty well to your crawlspace. It is made of thick plastic - built to last. From the outside it looks great, and it will help to keep your crawlspace clean and it will never rot.
